Hey Folks, my name is Todd aka Dead Man, and you’ve managed to find your way to Hiking A Different Path.
If you like hiking or backpacking or camping and especially long distance hiking then you’re in the right place.
This blog is all about those things and a little bit more. You see, this is about a life change journey for me.
I’ve been hiking and hammock camping for about SIX years now and I’m going to attempt a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail starting in February or March of 2021.
Hiking A Different Path is all about the motivation for a thru-hike, the skill sets that I believe I have or will need as well as the gear, food recipes, and processes that I’m looking at to make a successful thru-hike AND the what comes next once I finish. I want to look at all the different questions that the average Joe and Jill ask and maybe a few they haven’t thought of.
I’ll be uploading content every Monday and Friday from now until I start the hike. Monday’s are all about the stuff I mentioned just a second ago.
The Friday upload is all about the Faith aspect of the things I’m doing and experiencing along the way. I already know a lot of people who want to see that content. If you’re not one of them, I totally respect your right to just show up for the Monday content, but I hope you’ll check out the Friday content too. I believe strongly that long distance hiking specifically, can teach us a lot about what it is to have a long haul relationship with Jesus Christ. One that is truthful, meaningful and relevant in our culture today.
Either way, I want to invite you to follow the blog so you’ll know when new content is uploaded and ready for you to read. I’m hoping you want to be a part of the process as we go along too. I have a lot of ideas and ways of doing things, but as they say, there’s more than one way to skin a cat…if you’re into that sort of thing. I really want to hear how you look at this process, see your perspective and hear your ideas.
Thanks for checking out my blog. I’m honored, sincerely. I hope we’ll get to share lots of time together. Until then, take a hike and love somebody along the way.
